Something Old, Something New, Something Vintage, Something Blue.

Updated: Jan 30, 2021

A Celebration of Royal Craftsmanship and Timeless Design, Two Hundred and Forty-five years in the Making.

Here at Enjoue, our greatest goal is to curate every element of design as an embodiment of our namesake; playful, cheerful, vivacious, and overjoyed. We feel gleeful obsession for the rare and enduringly chic pieces offered to our clients and love nothing more than using them to tell a story of celebration, connection, and elegance – your story! Though it is usually finished designs garnering the most ooh’s and aah’s, we wanted to take some time this month to individually highlight the precious pieces that heighten the sophistication and artistry of our events, beginning with our prized and beloved Royal Copenhagen Dishes.

Royal Copenhagen began in the year 1775 as the Royal Porcelain Factory under the order of Juliane Marie, the Queen of Denmark, who commissioned the dishes exclusively for use of the royal family. As centuries progressed, the quality of the production process remained steadfast. Legendarily hand-painted on the finest porcelain by highly skilled Royal Copenhagen craftsmen with precisely 1,197 brushstrokes applied to form the intricate chrysanthemum inspired pattern, these treasures are a relic of royal opulence and cultural history.

Though their historical importance and global status as symbols of refinement, fine dining, and luxury are impressive, it is their timeless versatility and aesthetic brilliance that holds our gaze. The painting technique on the delicate flowering highly complements the ancient technique of Scandinavian Rosemaling and communicates the spirit of the color blue, which, according to the expertise of Royal Copenhagen, “...is the color of love, symbolizing fidelity and secrecy. It is a color coveted by royals, loved by poets, desired by artists. Blue has innumerable shades and nuances.”. How dreamy!

Our featured collection of Royal Copenhagen dishes captures the very essence of good design; effortlessly memorable, fresh, modern, and playful with a reverence for history, tradition, and fairytales. With patterns easily mixed to create a stunning table setting, they pair beautifully with our additional inventory and are sure to please all aesthetics. If you are a prospective or current client interested in learning more about incorporating royally approved table settings for your event.
